This piece is the embodiment of raw anxiety and chaos as we grapple for hope. The time period we live in is one full of deep awakening and pain, we are seeing at a rapid rate the full breadth of humanity, and at a speed that has not been possible until the progression of technology got to the levels we see now. We spend hours consuming. Consuming media, commercials, products we ultimately don’t need all the while becoming more and more withdrawn. Study after study comes out about how we are spending more and more time alone, feeling more and more anxious, depressed, and lonely… Yet to talk about it is considered “radical” or a “bummer”.

The reality is that we have an opportunity to create such a beautiful life for all of us on this planet collectively and yes technology is part of what makes that possible. I do feel as if we are in the midst of a tug-of-war trying to figure out collectively what a balanced society with technology looks like. Meanwhile technology as a gateway to convenience is the weakness we must all address. The reform and evolution required to have a happy and healthy planet, to have a truly equal opportunity for the pursuit of happiness, will take place as we distance our identity in the west from convenience being king. Convenience being replaced with true efficiency and a more synergistic global economy and system of exchange will pull us all up. It’s up to us now to feel.

To feel the discomfort, to feel the disappointment, to feel the need to show up for yourself and your community in the ways you can and with a kind and open heart. To feel crazy, to feel anxious, to feel your emotions like lightning, flowing through you and charging you to speak up, to speak out, to love unconditionally. In this drawing I invite you to feel with me, together we will not get stuck, together we will grow stronger.
